Home/office inventory form/list
What Would You Do?
What would you do if you lost some or all or your possessions in a fire or burglary? Would you be able to recall and report to the police and insurance company all that you lost?
Few of us could, yet many of us will eventually face such losses. It’s often hard to recall items that were acquired many years ago. Wedding gifts, birthday and anniversary presents, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and anything you accumulated along your lifetime. This inventory list will be invaluable if you ever need to identify in the case of a covered insurance loss.
Be Prepared!
Complete this form today! Give our office a call if you have any questions about properly insuring your belongings.
Two Important Steps:
List all your major items.
Go through each room. List all you major belongings. Write down serial numbers when present, purchase prices, current value and purchase dates, whenever possible. Attach any receipts.
Take photos, if possible.
Back up your inventory list with photos. Take a photograph of each wall of every room, with closet or cabinet doors open. Write the date, contents shown and location on the back of each picture. That’s all there is to it. Now protect your completed inventory records by storing them in a safe place away from home. Keep a copy of the inventory and the photo negatives at home so you can update your inventory whenever necessary. Taking a video camera and videoing your home and/or office is also a good idea.
